Understanding Weidian Seller Ratings: What the Numbers Really Mean

Decode Weidian's seller metrics, return rates, and reputation scores before you click buy. A data-driven guide to safe purchasing.
Weidian is a goldmine of products, but it is also a minefield of questionable sellers. The platform's rating system is your best defense, but only if you know how to read it. This guide explains every metric, red flag, and safety check before you place an order.
The Three Key Metrics
Store Rating (店铺评分)
The store rating is a composite score based on product quality, shipping speed, and customer service. Anything above 4.7 is generally safe. Between 4.5 and 4.7, proceed with caution and check recent reviews. Below 4.5, avoid unless you have strong external confirmation from community reviews.
Sales Volume (已售)
A high sales count means the listing has been tested by many buyers. Look for 500+ sales on popular items. Be suspicious of listings with 0-10 sales and no reviews, especially for hyped items. Scammers often create new listings with stolen photos to catch unwary buyers.
| Metric | Safe Zone | Caution Zone | Danger Zone |
|---|---|---|---|
| Store Rating | 4.7 - 5.0 | 4.5 - 4.69 | < 4.5 |
| Sales Count | 500+ | 100 - 499 | < 50 |
| Return Rate | < 5% | 5% - 10% | > 15% |
| Store Age | 2+ years | 6mo - 2yr | < 6 months |
If a seller has beautiful product photos but zero review photos from real buyers, be suspicious. Real sellers with good products almost always have buyer-uploaded photos in the reviews.
